Military Technology

Area 51

Rumors swirl around the confidentiality of Area 51. It is located within a 100-mile radius of Las Vegas, Nevada. According to Author Jonathon Strickland, the facility's purpose is for "the testing of technologies and systems training for operations critical to the effectiveness of U.S. military forces and the security of the United States."(Strickland) Area 51 is the most legendary, secret, “military” base on the planet. Area 51 holds some of the most secret governmental studies; it is evident that aliens are one of the secrets withheld in this sanction due to the history regarding the Roswell Incident, the extreme security and patrol systems, and Robert Lazard’s revelations.

On July 2nd, 1947 an unidentified flying object crashed in Roswell, New Mexico.
What better place to take the remains of a mysterious crash than Area 51? In 1947 residents of Roswell, New Mexico noticed an odd shaped aircraft swiftly soaring through the night sky. The next morning Mac Brazil, a rancher in Roswell, woke up to find a mess of metal materials crashed and scattered in his sheep pasture. Unable to identify the debris, Mac called the sheriff who was also unable to identify the uncanny remains. The sheriff went on to call the officials of the Roswell Army Air Force base who brought soldiers to fan across Mac’s field. The soldiers gathered the mysterious debris and carried it away in armored trucks. (History Channel) To keep people out, orange poles and caution signs saying that photography is not permitted under any circumstances surround Area 51. Other posts along the premises warn the general public that security is authorized to use deadly force on anyone who trespasses. What would the government be so concerned about protecting? What would the United States of America be afraid to reveal to its citizens? Aliens.

Who would fabricate an entire story about aliens? Robert Lazar lost his job when he went on TV and told the world he had been working on reverse engineering to power alien space crafts. In 1987 he went on television claiming to have been part of an operation that worked on alien technology. He confessed that the government has possession of at least nine alien spacecraft’s. EG&G hired him to help reverse engineer the technology in the alien craft for use in U.S. military vehicles and power production. He discovered a rusty, heavy substance he called "Element 115" that powered the alien spacecraft. He inspired the interest in UFOs and Area 51. (Knapp) In 1844 Edgar Allen Poe wrote a poem called Dreamland. This poem is often linked to Area 51. Area 51 was nicknamed Dreamland because of the connections it has to the poem, “The traveler, traveling through it, may not-dare not openly view it; Never its mysteries are exposed, to the weak human eye unclosed.” With Robert Lazard’s work publicized to the world, the mysterious crash in Roswell, New Mexico, and the over protective security, it is quite obvious that aliens are being held captive in this government sanctuary. The craze about UFOs and aliens and extraterrestrial life is growing very popular, all of these ideas are linked in one way or another to Area 51. It is sometimes difficult for people to be open to the idea of aliens in Area 51, but looking at the facts, what is actually true, from reports of The History Channel, National Geographic Channel, and many newscasts may open the idea for more consideration.
